Sofie and Kai are getting so big! Sofie's almost 10 months now and Kai will be three in less than 2 months! We are taking our first trip with them in a week. I am excited to take them to Africa for the first time - South Africa's gorgeous Cape Town. It's only a 6 hour or less flight from our island, so it shouldn't be too hard to manage the kids (we hope!). Kai is sooo excited to be back on an airplane. Here's some pics of recent days.

We had a BIG Halloween party with lots of little ones. Kai was a firefighter and Sofie was a ladybug (no pictures of Sofie in her ladybug costume right now but I will post some soon).

Sofie is sitting up well and almost crawling. She loves to play with her and Kai's toys. She can sit for hours just playing and watching Kai.

Sofie LOVES our tree swing. She always gets the biggest smile when we put her in it.

Kai adores sports of all kinds.

Kai loves to help his dad around the house fixing things. He has more tools than Alan, I think. Here, Kai helps his dad put up new mosquito netting around the bed (necessary for the nights when the power goes out and we can't sleep in air-conditioning - no screens on the windows!)

Kai in his glow-in-the-dark skeleton jammies.

Kai had a dress-up day at school where he had to dress up like his dad. He didn't want to wear the tie and ended up having a HUGE tantrum and was crying when I dropped him off at school.

Kai in his roller skates.

Kai and his fire fighter rain boots. They call them Wellies or Gum-boots here.

It is summer in Mauritius now so we are getting into the hot season - that means swimming everyday. Sofie also likes the water when the pool is warm. She loves splashing around.

As you can tell, Kai likes his costumes and accessories. He has the sweetest hobby horse and he loves to wear his cowboy hat and ride around on it. When he turns 3, he will be taking real horse lessons at a ranch near us. Can't wait!
